Update Stock in Bulk

Updating product stock in bulk is a quick and easy function which allows you to update stock of number of product details at once instead of going through them one by one.

Cin7 Orderhive allows you to update inventory in 2 ways - one is to directly update the inventory in the warehouses, the other way is to update the inventory on the locations managed within a warehouse (this is useful for users managing location, batch, and cost for the inventory stored in the warehouses).

Bulk Stock Update in Warehouses

  • Go to Products
  • Click on Import > Update Stock

  • In order to update stock, you need to first export the current stock of the products.
  • Select the option Only Warehouse and then export the products by clicking on Export stock in warehouses from here.

  • Once you click on Export, the excel file will be ready to download in a few seconds. You will receive a notification like this once it is ready to be downloaded.

  • Enter the updated values in the exported file
  • In the stock update sheet, only On Hand Quantity column needs to be updated, the rest of the fields can be kept as they are. Once the required fields have been updated in the file, import it again into Cin7 Orderhive so that the updated details can be reflected onto the products. You can either browse the file from your system or Drag & Drop the file to import.
  • Once the file is attached, click on Import.

  • Once you click on Import, you will be notified in a few minutes about the completion of import, depending on the number of products. If at all there is an error in updating the products, you can download the log file from the Notifications section to identify the errors. Once the import is successful, the quantity will get updated.
Update Stock on Locations in Warehouses:

  • In the downloaded file you can add the stock on existing locations and batches. It is also possible to create new locations, batch or cost combination in the sheet and they will be assigned to the products once the sheet is imported.
  • The Default column in the sheet states the default location for every warehouse.
  • To import the file, you can either browse the file from your system or Drag & Drop the file to import it.
